Origins is an editorial and preservation project for Nigeria's myths, names, oral traditions, places, and cultural memory.
Why this project
Important cultural material is often difficult to discover, separated from its sources, or presented without the quality and context it deserves. Origins aims to make exploration accessible while keeping cultural difference, contribution, and provenance visible.
The first release focuses on readable cultural guides and editorial stories. Search, original archive records, and institutional partnerships belong to later phases.
Make context visible
Readers should know a record’s editorial status, who contributed, and what sources support it.
Do not flatten difference
Each culture defines its own guide structure. Shared navigation does not require shared categories.
Build with contributors
Named contributors, reviewers, and knowledge holders are part of the record—not hidden production metadata.
Readability is preservation
Clear writing, comfortable typography, and meaningful connections help knowledge remain approachable.
Accessibility and inclusion
Origins targets WCAG 2.2 AA with semantic structure, keyboard access, visible focus, sufficient contrast, reduced-motion support, and meaningful image alternatives.
